From Tom during the late season.

One of our older signs showing just how long we have had some of our leases.
Tom was traveling home from a bird hunt scouting MAHA land on the drive back finding these geese for a quick no setup anything hunt.

Special day TJ's first band.
Part of the field they hunted is shown in the background, a soybean field. The hunt was over Christmas break. No water more than a stock pond within sight. The crew for this hunt collaborated where to scout, ended up finding the geese elsewhere than anticipated, setup (a "couple dozen" decoys, not the 600 to 1200 they typically placed) near by and went to calling. With coffin blinds set to the wind/decoys it "took a while" to get the first flight. Once that first flight came they came in uncountable and it was over quick for all. Done, picked up and cleaned up before dark. Unguided goose hunting with the satisfaction of employing personal skill to overcome disadvantages.
The same young man as above showing another band.
