At this point the wetlands is about half filled with water.
Blind 2 faces the southwest and chest waders are required to access the blind. The shooting pool around the blind covers over 20 acres of water. The average depth of the shooting pool is 12 to 24 inches, but deeper around the bar ditches which makes chest waders mandatory. The water level of this marsh is controlled every year to enhance habitat for waterfowl hunting. Parson's creek divides this 200 acre wetland into 3 separate pools. Blind 2 is one of 4 blinds on the east marsh covered with rippy grass and pin oak limbs. As a crow flies, the Fountain Grove Wildlife Area is 3 1/2 miles south of this property.
The variance in vegetation reflects the alternating years of draining and planting vice retention for natural growth.
